JUST IN: IPOB calls on Chukwu Okike Abiama to console Asari Dokubo & Family over wife's death

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) on Friday, July 29, commiserated with the leader of the Niger Delta Peoples Volunteer Force Asari Dokubo. 

In a statement made available to, the spokesperson for the group Emma Powerful said the group under the leadership of Nnamdi Kanu commiserates Dokubo on the loss of his wife, Zainab. 

The IPOB in its statement called on “Chukwu Okike Abiama” (God) to console the Dokubo family and people of his community and grant them the fortitude to bear the loss. “Also there are many chapters in a book the bad side in the book is not the end of the book,” Powerful said. 

“Therefore, we urge the leader of the Niger Delta Peoples Volunteer Force chief Asari Dokubo to keep your eyes on the stars of the sky and your feets on the ground because most people give up just when they are about to achieve success, they give up at the last moment of the game, one foot from a winning touch. “Again, the winners are the one’s who really listen to the truth of their hearts. 

“The golden opportunity we all are waiting to see is in our hands Biafra not in the lips again but by a series of small things brought together we begin to dwell in the land of the new nation Biafra,” he said. 

Zanaib, the first wife of the Niger Delta militant leader died on her way to Ibadan in Oyo state Wednesday, July 27. She is survived by her four children – Amirah, Hassan, Hussain and Osama. The chairman of the Oyo state Muslim community Alhaji Ishaq Sanni while confirming Zainab’s death said he recalled that Zainab relocated to Yenagoa. 

Bayelsa’s capital city on her appointment as the secretary of the Muslims Pilgrims Board. Sanni said it is however heart warming that a member of many Islamic organizations in Ibadan before her death. 

He had said: “It is interesting she was coming to her preferred town Ibadan when she met her destiny.” He prayed that Allah accept her soul, her multifarious and multidimensional jihad as acts of Ibadah.
